Who was Nancy Pérez-Crespo?

He was born in Cueto, Holguín, in 1940. He went into exile in the United States in 1965. He was a key figure in the recent cultural history of Miami, as well as a prominent voice in independent Cuban journalism.

This outstanding communicator built a career dedicated to serving others, ranging from cultural promotion to humanitarian support.

Their bookstores and cultural spaces, like SIBI, became epicenters of Miami's intellectual life, bringing together figures such as Lidia Cabrera, Guillermo Martínez Márquez, and Mario Vargas Llosa.

In addition, Nancy stood out for her support of the writers and artists from the Mariel exodus and the new exiles from the 1994 rafters crisis.

She was one of the founders of the New Cuban Press Agency (NPC), supporting independent journalists and promoting the international recognition of the free press movement on the island.
