A Cuban family with three small children, who lost their humble home in a fire last weekend in the Altavista neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba, needs help to move forward as they have lost everything.
A Facebook post documented in images the pitiful state in which the place where the little house was located ended up.
The sadness on the face of the young mother and her three children, a seven-year-old girl and two boys, one five and the other just two years old, is evident.
"Any help would be enough for them. I make a call to society, here is the evidence that it is real," wrote the young woman who requested assistance for the family on social media.
In addition to 58121325, in the comments section the author of the post indicated that at the number 5354239961, the mother of the young woman who was affected in the fire can be located.
The incident took place in the Altavista neighborhood, near the Abel Santamaría District, as a result of an electrical problem.
A video circulated on social media by journalist Yosmany Mayeta showed the moment when firefighters were spraying water with a hose, but it was evident that they had not managed to arrive in time to extinguish the fire.
"They have three children under 10 years old, and everything burned down. Nothing could be saved at all because the meter started the fire, and with electricity, none of us could throw water or anything," explained a netizen who apparently witnessed the tragic event.
The source explained that, in the case of electricity, the neighbors were unable to help extinguish the fire for fear that someone might get electrocuted, and that the firefighters arrived too late.
In recent months, there have been several reported fires in homes in Santiago de Cuba.
Last week, another fire in the capital municipality of the province left at least two families with damage to their homes, although in that case there were no injuries either.
