Tampa sets a world record with the largest Cuban sandwich in history.

Tampa sets a world record with a 365-foot Cuban sandwich, capable of feeding more than 750 people.

Chefs and volunteers collaborated to create the longest Cuban sandwich in history, reaching a length of just over 365 feet.

The organizers estimate that this sandwich can feed more than 750 people and made an effort to keep it fresh.

The event took place in Tampa on July 28 at One Buccaneer Place and was a collaboration between the International Cuban Sandwich Festival and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The volunteers faced climate challenges to set the record, achieving a sandwich the length equivalent to that of a football field.

René Marquis, from the American Culinary Federation, led the effort not only to break the record but also to support those in need.

"Tampa has the oldest Cuban sandwich in the world, and now we will have the largest in the world. The best part is that the community has come together to feed those in need," Marquis told Bay News 9.

After measuring the sandwich, it was taken to the New Beginnings association in Tampa. Dr. Tom Atchinson expressed his gratitude for the solidarity shown by the community.

"It's not just about the food that will nourish people, but about them thinking of our veterans and homeless individuals, and that carries great significance," he mentioned.

With the record of 366 feet reached, the work of packing the sandwich began, ensuring that it could be distributed to those who need it most so they can also be part of this gastronomic record.
