A regime-aligned social media account launched an attack this Thursday against the comedian Wilber Gutiérrez, known as “Heriberto Chacón” for his role in “Vivir del Cuento”, following his recent arrival in Miami.
The user Frank Enrique, identified as a supporter of the regime, expressed his criticism on Facebook with a contemptuous message: “Another one for the cemetery. This character is already part of the sewers of Miami; I don't criticize him for emigrating, it's a right, but coming here talking nonsense is another matter.”
In her post, the ciberclaria claimed that "Heriberto Chacón" will follow a supposed "repeated pattern," referring to the lives of many Cuban emigrants in Miami.
"Llega, speaks the... as always, some influencers interview him, maybe Univista will hire him, before the year is out they let him go, he opens a YouTube channel because no one wants to hire him anymore and goodbye Chacón, the flower has died, buried in Miami. Just another one in the crowd," he stated.
This attack on social media reflects the derogatory discourse that certain regime-aligned profiles often direct towards Cuban artists and public figures who choose to emigrate, especially if they choose to speak out against the reality of the Cuban political system after leaving the country.
Gutiérrez arrived in the United States escaping the Cuban regime, and in addition to the traditional multicolored balloons and the embrace of his loved ones, he sang to the leader Miguel Díaz-Canel the truths that he surely had to keep silent to avoid censorship.
"Thank you very much to all the family who came to welcome us, here is Heriberto Chacón from Vivir del Cuento, well, what remains, what Díaz-Canel left behind," Gutiérrez expressed in the video, in a mix of gratitude and criticism regarding the situation facing Cuba.
Since November, the independent media CubaNet reported that the popular comedian Gutiérrez was in Mexico, based on statements from a producer of the Cuban comedy show and a close friend.
Gutiérrez's departure adds to a long list of main cast members from "Vivir del Cuento" who have left the island in search of new opportunities, highlighting the crisis facing the cultural sector on the island.
Others who have emigrated in recent years include Andy Vázquez (Facundo Correcto), Omar Franco (Ruperto), Irela Bravo (Chachita), and Marlon Pijuán (Isidoro), who currently reside outside of Cuba.
Of the main characters from the iconic series, only Luis Silva (Pánfilo) and Mario Sardiñas (Chequera) remain in the country.
