An interprovincial bus lost control and ended up on the sidewalk, pressed against the entrance of a company, on the central Escario Street in Santiago de Cuba, as revealed by independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.

The photographs shared on Facebook show the bus immobilized on the sidewalk, with the front very close to the entrance of the establishment and several passersby and onlookers present.

The incident occurred near the Ferreiro youth square, although the original note does not specify the exact time of the accident or the condition of the occupants of the vehicle.

Among the comments gathered in the same post, several users highlighted that, fortunately, there were no fatalities.

"Fortunately, thanks to the driver's experience, who did a great job, we all came out unscathed," stated a bus passenger.

A user noted the presence of "so many kids who are out there on their way to school," highlighting the risk posed by that stretch during class hours.

“Wow, at full morning, it’s not easy,” commented another resident, reflecting the alarm of those who travel that route at that time.

Other internet users also recalled the dangers of the street.

"Escario is a dangerous artery. Drivers must take extra precautions when traveling through there. The accident rate on that street is extremely high as they are very frequent," one wrote.

The scene adds to a growing agenda of traffic incidents that have been accumulating in recent days.

Last week, the windshield of a public transport bus was shattered after a serious collision on the Berroa bridge, on the outskirts of Havana.

In another serious incident, a Yutong bus transporting workers between Caibarién (Villa Clara) and Yaguajay (Sancti Spíritus) overturned on the northern road, in the section that connects Mayajigua and Seibabo.

Images released showed severe damage to the front of the vehicle and several injuries; one of them underwent surgery at the Joaquín Paneca hospital in Yaguajay.

Users on social media attributed possible responsibilities to the driver's speeding and the poor condition of the road, which, according to testimonies, "is in terrible shape" and adds risk factors such as loose livestock and a lack of maintenance.

The recurring reports of bus accidents and the testimonies of those who travel daily on streets like Escario fuel the public demand for greater prevention: better road conditions, traffic control, stricter inspections of the vehicles, and training and monitoring of driver behavior.

In the absence of official reports with more details about the incident in Santiago de Cuba, witness messages and images shared on social media remain the primary source of information for the affected community.

The bus involved was temporarily immobilized, and the scene drew the attention of neighbors and users who shared photos on social media.

Meanwhile, residents' comments reflect a mixture of relief at the lack of fatalities in this incident and concern over the frequency of accidents on that road, especially during school and work rush hours.
