A bus on the Santiago-Camagüey route was involved in a multiple collision with another bus and a trailer on Tuesday night, around 11:00 PM, on the Bayamo-Río Cauto stretch in Granma.

According to user Julian Montoya's report in the Facebook group "Car Accidents in Cuba and Information on the Road", the impact did not cause any fatalities, although several passengers in the front seats were injured.

According to the report, none of the injured sustained life-threatening injuries, and many expressed gratitude for "still being alive" after the scare.

The published images show visible damage to one of the vehicles involved: a bus belonging to the National Bus Company, used for interprovincial trips.

Both the front and rear structure of the bus are affected, evidence that the collision was of direct impact.

Reactions on social media: relief, concern, and resignation

In the comments on the post, the main reaction from users was relief at the absence of fatalities.

However, the news also raised concerns about the deterioration of the road infrastructure, which experienced drivers pointed out as a recurring factor in accidents. "That road is in terrible condition," stated a professional driver from the company Taxis-Cuba.

Another group of users lamented a situation that has become commonplace: every accident means less transportation available for the population.

A resident in Santiago de Cuba commented: "Thank God there were no fatalities (...) but unfortunately, we have one less mode of transportation for our population, which is our only means of transport."

Additionally, some attributed the accident to reckless driving, particularly to improper lane usage.

"As long as they keep driving over the white line, accidents like this will continue," wrote a resident of Havana.

A clash that reflects known issues

Although the report indicates that there was only property damage and minor injuries, the reactions reflect accumulated frustrations among users: deteriorated roads, inadequate transportation, and accidents that exacerbate an already existing crisis.

For those who rely on interprovincial buses as their sole means of transportation, the accident represents a new setback, beyond the fright of the previous night.

Montoya concluded his post by noting that, despite the blows, the outcome of the accident allowed him to "be grateful for being alive." This phrase encapsulates the tone with which many Cubans confront the everyday dangers of traveling by road.
