According to sources on social media, the operation was successful, and the patient is out of danger.

A user, who claimed to be a colleague of those affected, stated that “there were minor injuries, one passenger broke their hand, and thankfully there were no fatalities.”

Passenger and witness testimonies

One of the passengers on board the vehicle shared their experience on social media: “I was on the bus, thanks to the Great Architect and the Virgin, nothing happened to me.”

This comment was followed by numerous messages of relief and solidarity from users who knew the passengers or had been informed about the accident.

Other voices provided details about what happened.

An internet user reported that "that driver needs to stop with the excessive speed he always has... in fact, that was the cause of the accident. Don't say it was the grid, it was the driver's fault."

According to their account, the driver involved had a history of speeding and exhibited inappropriate behavior during the journeys.

Criticism of the condition of the road and the road infrastructure

Numerous comments pointed to the poor condition of the road as a factor that may have contributed to the accident.

"Due to the condition of the road, the section of Yaguajay, meaning already within Sancti Spíritus, is in very poor shape all the way to Seibabo," alerted a user.

Another person also offered their perspective: “I understand, from some neighbors who had relatives involved, that there were no serious injuries. Although it’s quite a spectacle. That road, besides being in terrible condition, is a bit elevated compared to its surroundings.”

An internet user pointed out: “That road is in very bad condition, not to mention the amount of cattle present at any time of day; that's a constant issue and nothing is being done,” highlighting the widespread disregard for road safety.

Called to caution and responsibility

While the official causes of the accident are being clarified, several internet users took the opportunity to issue calls for awareness and responsibility behind the wheel.

"Do not speed to avoid accidents like this… let's protect our lives and yours," wrote a commentator, joining a series of similar opinions.

Questions also arose about whether the accident could have been caused by driver fatigue. “What happened? Did a tire blow out or did the driver fall asleep?” one user asked, while another was more direct: “He fell asleep.”

Fortunately, no human casualties have been reported. Most of the injured sustained minor injuries, and some have already been discharged or are under medical observation.

"Thank God everyone is alive. The injured are recovering and the bus is being repaired. Just one more experience... that's how traffic is," reflected one of the commentators, relieved by the outcome given the seriousness of the incident.

This new accident highlights once again the risks associated with the deterioration of road infrastructure, reckless driving, and the lack of oversight on interprovincial routes.

As of the closing of this report, there is no official information regarding the accident or the causes that led to the bus overturning.

Meanwhile, family members, friends, and citizens on social media continue to send messages of support and wishes for a swift recovery for all those affected.
