A young man seriously injured after being stabbed at a public party in Santiago de Cuba

They stabbed him four times, two of which affected his kidney and one his liver.

A young Cuban identified asWilmer Junior Lestapier was stabbed when he was leaving a university party that takes place every week at the Pacho Alonso track in Santiago de Cuba, according to his mother, Yanelis Pascual, instatements al journalist Yosmany Mayeta.

The woman stated that during the attack - which occurred on February 7 - five boys fell on top of her and that They stabbed him four times, two of which affected his kidney and one his liver.

“I am waiting for the report at one o'clock [Tuesday], but he is still reported to be in serious stable condition. At least he's walking, he's eating, and thank God he hasn't developed any clinical signs," he explained about the clinical condition of his 26-year-old son, who is admitted to the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital in the city of Santiago.

Yanelis PascualHe urged the attackers to surrender, as he assures that none have yet been captured by the Police.

“Thank you very much for your publication, to see if that's what they did or to see if anyone from what they saw dares to go to the police and report it to see if they catch that little band that is causing quite a lot of havoc here in Santiago de Cuba, not only with my son,” the woman said.

“Here I saw people arrive with blows to the head, blows with machetes, I have seen havoc, havoc that they are wreaking”, Yanelis Pascual described what she has experienced in the hospital where her son is admitted.

Regarding the rumor that pointed to the alleged death of his Wilmer Yunior, who is also the father of a baby girl who was just a few days old, he clarified that it is false, although he is still in care.

“The level of violence that exists here in this country is not easy, I just want the youth to calm down because violence is nothing,” the woman concluded in an extensive message to Cuban youth.

In a previous publication, Yosmany Mayeta specified that Wilmer Yunior Lestapier Pascual lives with his grandmother in La Alameda in Santiago de Cuba.

An image published by the communicator showed Lestapier Pascual in a wheelchair and with part of one of his arms bandaged.

So far, the alleged motives for the attack have not been revealed, nor have other details about the attackers.

At the end of January, the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) recognized, during a recent meeting with residents of the Abel Santamaría neighborhood (El Salao), in Santiago de Cuba, the presence ofcriminal gangs dedicated to "implementing terror" among residents.

On that occasion, the authorities asked for a vote of confidence from those affected and issued a warning to the criminals.

“Know that you are going to be severely punished for the acts you have committed. We have learned about the different groups that exist and operate in these places. Know that we know who are the members of those groups that today hinder order and citizen tranquility and we are going to go to them,” explained a MININT officer.

He specifically referred to the case of the young David Enrique Perdomo Álvarez, young 26-year-old lineman, whose right hand was cut off by one of those gangs, an incident for which there are five detainees,
