In recent days, several accidents with trucks have been reported on Cuban roads.

On Sunday, February 11, atruck overturned in Bahía Honda, Artemisa, leaving 37 people injured, aged between 18 and 68 years. Of that number, seven were serious.

According to the official Artemisa weekly, those involved were "young UJC militants who were returning from volunteer work in the sugarcane areas of the Harlem Company."

The volunteer from the Community Operations and Relief Group (GMOS) of San Cristóbal Alieny de la Caridad Aranda Ruiz, commented that they spent almost an hour transferring the injured.

"Preliminarily, there were head injuries, injuries to the ribs, strong blows to the joints and head," he explained.

"Until the moment I was at the scene, it was said that [the cause] could have been the loss of control of the rudder. The transmission bar broke and the two rear wheels on the right side came loose," he indicated. .

That same day, atruck apparently used to transport passengers suffered an accident on the Ciego de Ávila-Morón highway, near the Modesto Reyes town.

Images shared by a witness on Facebook showed the cabin of the old vehicle from the 1950s, which was dented, with the roof half crushed.

The presence of cranes at the scene, along with the visible damage to the truck, suggested that it overturned when leaving the road.

A photograph showed one of the wheels without its rubber, only with the rim stripped, which could have been one of the causes of the accident: a burst in one of the tires.

The day before, another accident occurred in thekilometer 120 of the National Highway left several injured after a truck overturned from the 50s, conditioned for passenger transport.

The incident may have occurred in a section near Jagüey Grande, Matanzas. In the images shared on social networks, the vehicle was seen on its side, with the cabin completely destroyed.

Despite the spectacular nature of the accident, there were no deaths.
