Thermoelectric Guiteras will connect to the SEN on March 18, according to the Minister of Energy

"Although for the future the fuel situation will be slightly better, there will not be stability like the previous year," De la O Levy justified, insisting that in 2023 there was alleged stability in electricity generation.

Vicente de la O Levy, head of Energy and Mines in the government of Miguel Diaz-Canel, assured that the Matanzas thermoelectric plant, Antonio Guiteras, will end its technical stoppage and will synchronize the national electroenergy system (SEN) next Monday, March 18.

This was stated in a reportage of the National Television News, in which he celebrated that the greatest thermoelectric of the country is meeting its schedule after disconnecting from the SEN on February 29 to carry out maintenance that cannot be postponed.

Recognizing that the decision to stop was made at a complicated time, with high generation deficits that cause daily and prolonged blackouts, the minister stressed that it was essential to make the stop.

“We had to make the decision, we are going to take Guiteras out for 17 days, and so far the program is going well. Must enter on the 18th of this month, and then, with the fuel situation, we will have a better situation (sic),” said De la O Levy.

The population wonders what is happening with the Matanzas thermoelectric plant, which does not stop leaving the SEN for maintenance work. It went out three days at the end of January, another three days at the end of December, another three in the middle of that month, another three at the beginning, three more days at the beginning of November, in October, several times in September, and so on... until losing the check.

“If we did not remove Guiteras to maintain it, in any case the situation of the fuel deficit continues, but we know and have forecasts of the solutions we are having with fuel. Although the fuel situation will be slightly better in the future, there will not be stability like the previous year,” justified De la O Levy, who insists that in 2023 there was alleged stability in electricity generation.

The operators of the Matanzas giant prioritize the solution of defects diagnosed in the thermal area. According to the report of the NTV, parts and components of the boiler are being replaced with others manufactured in Cuba, with imported raw materials.

“If we do not repair Guiteras, the risk increases that in the summer, with more demand, with more consumption, Guiteras will leave us,” the minister warned.

The day before, De la O Levy promised that the situation created by the acute energy crisis that the country is going through, with endless blackouts, will improve “in the future”.

Without specifying the margin of improvement or the time frame for its prediction, the minister responsible for the country's electrical infrastructure, used his fortune-telling skills to prophesy a change in the terrible situation suffered by the Cuban population.

“We know that the impact that is happening to the population is a high impact, we recognize that, and yesterday's trend was better than the previous day, and today we are estimating that the condition is better than what we had yesterday ", explained this Monday the engineer Lazarus War Hernandez, technical director of the Electrical Union of Cuba (UNE).

Leaders and “cadres” of the Cuban regime continue to use slogans and empty rhetoric to justify the energy and systemic crisis caused by Díaz-Canel's misrule. As if the population did not know how to do math and had a memory like a fish, essential conditions to believe at this point in its propaganda.
