The former television presenterMaría Victoria Gil Fernández, she feels embarrassed by what is happening with her brother, the former Minister of Economy,Alejandro Gil Fernandez, accused ofcorruption in Cuba and hopes that his innocence can be proven.
In a post on Facebook, María Victoria said this Thursday that she is "the object of unfair and excessive hatred, fostered by social networks" and regretted having given interviews to content creators on platforms such as YouTube, which have harmed her.
"I feelanticipated shame in case the accusations were true that my brother is being investigated and, if it is proven that he has profited or benefited from his political position, I will be the first to ask for forgiveness, for the blood that unites us," she said.
He also asked Cubans "not to allow themselves to be manipulated by those who, far from the Homeland, well-off and enriching themselves thanks to views and likes, without the courage to fight within Cuba, are dedicated to spreading false accusations that constitute a crime."
María Victoria also referred to her son, who is a criminal lawyer in Spain. He said that he works, is a man of integrity and is not related to his uncle. "Keep insulting me, but leave my son alone," he asked.
At the beginning of March, María Victoria denied any involvement in her brother's "shady and dirty" businesses and even accused him of having done something to her.great emotional damage to your life and to put it, perhaps without intending it, in the focus of the media debate on this case ofcorruption in Cuba.
A few days later, in another interview, he stated thatAlejandro Gil is innocent and indirectly accusedRaul Castro of having created a case against the former Minister of Economy.
"My brother acknowledged the facts of which he is accused. He has entered into an investigative process by theAttorney General's Office of the Republic of Cuba and the Bodies of the Ministry of the Interior. They are not 'serious errors'. He has acknowledged facts that are being attributed to him, which means crimes," María Victoria specified.
"He showed his face in theRound table every day, but everyone knows who is behind all the things that are done in Cuba and it is theArmy General Raúl Castro Ruz", he expressed.
