Cuban with cancer denounces that the regime denies him help: "I cannot work or buy medicine"

The doctor advised Manuel Vázquez not to work because he had prostate cancer. However, when he went to the government to ask for help, the authorities denied him.

The TunerManuel Vazquez Cabrera, unable to work due to prostate cancer, denounced that the Cuban regime denied him financial help.

The precarious situation in which the man lives, in the municipality of Manatí, was alerted by theCuban Observatory of Human Rights.

Vázquez, who suffers from pain, asked for help because he does not have the money to even buy the medicines he needs, according to the video in the publication.

“I went to the government for monetary help and they don't want to give it, they say I can work,” he explained, “and the doctor told me that I can't work, that I can't sunbathe.”

The doctor recommended medications that are only purchased outside the country, and as a palliative for not having these, or a similar one made in Cuba, he is using home remedies, he explained.

"In front of me I have some used probes, and in order to use them I have had to sterilize them, and they are the ones I am using that, as they say, are no longer useful," denounced this man who is suffering from the crisis that exists in Cuba with medications and medical supplies.

“I would like you to help me because I really feel very bad,” he stressed.

The current crisis in Cuba, the worst in the last six decades, significantly affects the most vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly.

In a meeting with health sector officials, held in March, Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel warned thatThe shortage of medicines and medical supplies will continue in the country.

"Given the lack of supplies and medicines, the best response we can give to our population in such difficult times is the quality of services, with shortages, we are going to have them, we are going to continue with a lack of medicines," he stated.

However, complaints about poorhealth care in Cuba have increased, and the situation in hospitals is increasingly dire.

Added to this panorama is that every day there is an increase in the number of people who seek to make up for medication shortages through their own means.

Requests abound on social media from people who, in the midst of desperation, seek help of all kinds for their sick relatives.

Recently, a child from Cienfuegos suffered serious burns, which led tothat a group of Cubans asked for help to get medicine.

A Cuban mother also turned to the solidarity of the people toget colostomy bags for your sick child.
