TheRussian Embassy in Cuba He specified that the donation included four sets of emergency medical modules, three sets of modules for non-infectious diseases, 66 trauma modules, in addition to medications and other essential materials for the health sector.

Victor Koronelli, Russian ambassador to Cuba, highlighted that this aid represents a "substantial contribution to strengthening the national health system" of the Caribbean island.

He also made reference to the "current conditions" facing Cuba, attributing them to the trade embargo imposed by the United States.

The delivery of this medical equipment comes in a context of economic and energy crises, exacerbated by recent protests in various cities against power outages, inflation and food shortages.

The ruler, Miguel Díaz-Canel, blames sectors of the Cuban exile in Miami for inciting protests and has criticized US sanctions. A spokesperson for the State Department in Washington rejected these accusations of interference in Cuba's internal affairs.

The Russian embassy explained that the project seeks to guarantee a timely response by the Cuban authorities to medical emergencies and natural disasters.

Koronelli added that, despite the sanctions faced by Russia, it continues its support for Cuba due to the ties of "true friendship" between both nations.

Representatives of the PAHO office in Cuba were present at the official delivery ceremony of the medical material. The Cuban authorities assured that the distribution of supplies has already begun throughout the country, to give greater scope to the benefits of this international cooperation.
