A 53-year-old massage therapist of Cuban descent was arrested this Tuesday by Miami police, allegedly for touching a woman's intimate parts during a massage and then offering her money to keep quiet about the incident.
According to an arrest report, J.C.D.L. was detained at the Massage Envy location, situated in Mary Brickell Village at 900 S. Miami Ave, reported Local 10.
The police were notified that the man had sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman, while massaging her thigh during a full-body service.
The victim explained to the authorities that J.C.D.L. offered her money "so that she wouldn’t tell anyone".
The arrest report states that she refused the cash offer; however, he offered to send her money through Zelle.
According to the document, J.C.D.L. left the massage room, and when he returned to the room, he asked the young woman for her phone number to send her money.
The police indicated that the masseur sent $200 through Zelle, but she "never received it". The investigation revealed that the girl provided an incorrect phone number, which was saved by J.C.D.L. on his mobile under the name of the victim.
However, the man defended himself by arguing that he felt the young woman was seducing him, and "it was then that he might have touched her vagina inadvertently," the report noted.
In addition, he stated that the girl asked him if he could "pay for the massage," to which he agreed and sent the 200 dollars, the police reported.
"He believes that the victim was asking him for money because he had touched her", says the report cited by Local 10.
J.C.D.L. was arrested by the police for a crime of sexual assault.
A judge found probable cause to charge the Cuban man, who on Wednesday remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond and in preventive detention, as the investigation into the case continues.
In April, two men from Miami, one of whom is of Cuban nationality, were arrested by the police after a sexual encounter arranged with a third party went out of control, whom they intimidated with a toy gun, illegally detained, and assaulted.
The Cuban Yoandry Mora Martínez, 25 years old, and the Colombian Ludwing Duván Ramírez, 26, contacted a man through the Grindr app and offered him money in exchange for sex. However, during the meeting, things did not go as planned, and they threatened the individual with a fake weapon to get back the money they had paid, according to arrest reports.
