The United States Border Patrol (CBP) in the Miami Sector, in coordination with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, arrested 10 illegal aliens, at least two of whom are of Cuban origin, all with a history of being previously convicted sexual offenders.

The arrests, made over the past three weeks, are part of a joint effort to protect the communities of the Florida Keys and remove dangerous individuals from the area.

“Each of these individuals posed a threat to the communities in which we live,” stated Jeffrey Dinise, chief of the Miami Sector Patrol, in a statement released by CBP.

"The Miami Sector Border Patrol remains committed to protecting our communities and enforcing our immigration laws. I appreciate the work of our agents and police partners who supported this effort,” he added.

The detainees, residents of the Keys, are listed as registered sex offenders with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Among the convictions of these individuals are:

-Lascivious and obscene acts against a minor under 16 years of age.

-Lascivious and obscene sexual assault against a victim aged between 12 and 15 years.

-Statutory sexual seduction.

-Request of a minor for sexual activities.

At least two of those arrested are of Cuban origin

Although all those arrested are of Hispanic origin, so far only two have been confirmed as Cubans by local media.

They are Manuel Ismael Pérez and Osiel Rodríguez-González.

Manuel Ismael Pérez is a registered sex offender who illegally entered southern Florida from Cuba several decades ago and was recently arrested in an operation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in Key West.

Pérez—who was detained while driving a blue Mitsubishi—was seen holding a cup of coffee before being transported in a CBP van to the Border Patrol station in Marathon.

During his detention, the Cuban told a reporter from Local 10 who was present at the operation: "I know my criminal record."

His record includes sex crimes against a minor, aggravated assault, and drug trafficking.

Next, he hinted at being very rooted when he pointed out: "I've been here for 70 years. I have three children. I have eight grandchildren".

The other confirmed Cuban among the arrests is Osiel Rodríguez-González, who is in an irregular situation in the U.S., with a history of domestic violence and cocaine trafficking, and was found guilty of beating and suffocating a dog.

In total, the ten detainees were processed and transferred to ICE custody, where they remain awaiting deportation.

The Miami Sector emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration and urged the public to report any suspicious activity at the Florida border by calling (877) 772-8146

They also invited everyone to follow updates from the sector chief through his official accounts on X, Instagram, and Facebook: @USBPChiefMIP.
