A hearse is needed to transport Carlos Massola's body.

The actor Carlos Massola, who passed away this Wednesday in Havana, suffered firsthand the censorship and contempt of the Cuban regime. Now, in his final farewell, his body remains at his home hours after his passing due to the lack of a hearse.

Diego Lázaro García Espinosa, a friend of the deceased artist, reported that hours after the death, the body remains inside his home, a situation that deepens the sadness of the actor's mother, as reported by the news portal CubaNet.

García is carrying out the procedures related to the actor's death, as informed by Massola's mother to the news website.

The actor's friend went to the funeral home on Infanta Street, but upon finding it closed, they were directed to the one on Zanja Street. At the latter, someone informed them that there were no hearses available to transport the body to the chapel, and that the service would also be delayed.

"Although he issued the authorization for the transfer, hours later no car had arrived," CubaNet reported.

García requested the help of the firefighters to get Massola down due to the size of his body, according to his account, but they replied that they would only do so when the hearse arrived.

According to his statements: "Massola is in very bad conditions at his home, he died in a gruesome way and wouldn't withstand more hours in his room."

Massola's mother expressed that what she most desires is for them to take the body, so she can sit down and process everything that has happened, as she has been waiting with her son for the transfer since dawn.

The Cuban actor passed away this Wednesday in Havana at 62 years of age. Fabio Corchado Borroto, opponent and close friend of Massola, expressed his sadness for the loss through a post on Facebook.

"My brother Carlos Massola just passed away. Yesterday he called me telling me how bad he was feeling and his mother called me this morning to tell me about the passing. Rest in peace my brother. I am devastated," he expressed.

The news shocked the Cuban artist community inside and outside the island, who expressed their condolences through social media for the death of the actor and sent their sympathy to family, friends, and loved ones.

In addition to his acting quality, Massola has harshly criticized the Cuban regime in recent years, which has responded with censorship.
