The Santiago de Cuba pitcher, Wilber Reina Lanchazo, who on July 6th was hit in the face by a pitch during the fifth inning of the game against Industriales at Guillermón Moncada Stadium, is recovering satisfactorily.
Sports journalist, Yasel Porto, reported that this same Tuesday it is expected that the pitcher from Santiago will be discharged from the hospital, having received visits from friends at the Provincial Saturnino Lora Hospital after overcoming the most complex moment of his recovery process.
The journalist Yosmany Mayeta specified - citing official sources - that the player only remembers when he threw the fastball.
The baseball player underwent a minor maxillofacial surgery. They gave him over six stitches on the outer area of the upper lip, and almost ten on the inside.
After the blow, the baseball player was immediately transferred to the emergency department of the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital, where he was admitted to the observation room.
The match ended with a 4-2 victory for Industriales, which left Santiago out of the championship semifinal.
