The son of the legend Ariel Pestano, former starting catcher of the Cuban teams in international competitions, will showcase his skills at the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium in Mexico City.

Currently represented by Thompson Sport Agency, the catcher has other possibilities with teams from the Pacific Mexican League, as Romero disclosed on the social network Facebook.

In the past month of May, despite his great national projection, Pestano Jr. requested to be released from Cuban baseball in order to definitively leave the country.

Dairon Pérez Urbano, a journalist from the CMHW La Reina Radial del Centro station, revealed on his Facebook wall that Pestano Jr. and Leandro Turiño, both from the Villa Clara team and 32 years old, have requested their release.

The young athlete finished with a batting average of .266 in six series, with an OBP of .382, 41 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, and 83 RBIs.

On the other hand, Turiño, who bats and throws right-handed, was one of the most experienced players in the orange team, with 11 seasons in local baseball, including the 2013 season, the last in which the "Leopards" were national champions.

In 2019, he went to the Dominican Republic in an attempt to be noticed by a Major League talent scout, but after several failed attempts, he returned to the island in 2021.
