A young Cuban requested help to find his father, who has been missing since Sunday morning, when he allegedly traveled from San Cristóbal to Mariel, in the province of Artemisa.
The man's name is Pedro Luis Echevarría Sánchez, he is 61 years old and suffers from diabetes and hypertension, according to the alert posted on Facebook by his son.
In the post, Pedro Luis Echevarría Torres expressed his concern that the father might be disoriented "as he is an insulin-dependent patient and is not taking his medication."
He explained that around 9 a.m. on Sunday, the man reportedly left Santa Cruz, in the municipality of San Cristóbal, to head to Mariel, and that he was traveling in a car that was going to Havana.
The young man asked anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of his father to notify +53 5 4840915 or WhatsApp +34627332659.
The disappearances of people have become very frequent in Cuba lately, amid the increasing insecurity generated by the rise in crime in the country.
Family members and relatives of people whose whereabouts are unknown use social media to bring visibility to the cases and to try to find their loved ones, in the absence of an official channel to assist in the search.
