"There is a family suffering because there is nothing more exhausting than having questions without answers."

The young Cuban Karildi Marín remains missing from her home, and her family is experiencing greater anguish these days, as next Saturday, September 14, is her 25th birthday.

"This September 14, my sister Karildi will be celebrating her birthday, and she has been missing for nine months, and we still have no answers from the authorities about what may have happened to her," her brother Yoandri Marín reported on Facebook.

"There is a family suffering because there is nothing more exhausting than having unanswered questions. Where could they be? What happened to them? If something happened, who are the ones responsible?" they questioned.

If the girl doesn't appear next week, this will be the first anniversary she is not present. That day marks nine months since her disappearance, as she was last seen on December 14.

"We only ask God to help us find you, my sister, and to close this cycle that consumes us from within. Wherever you are, we love you very very much, and hopefully one day divine justice will settle the score with everyone who may have done you harm," expressed Yoandri, who during this time has been commenting on the case online.

In mid-August, Yoandri stated that he keeps hope of knowing what happened to his sister.

"I ask God to always keep you protected and that justice is served by the authorities because until today we have no news of you. We love you and will always love you," he wrote.

The young man trusts that divine justice will punish those who have harmed his sister, but he also demands accountability from the authorities.

"Resolve my sister's case, as time is running out and it has already been more than a day since her disappearance; it has been almost six months. We need answers," she said in June.

Karildi Marín, 24 years old, resides in Párraga, in the Arroyo Naranjo municipality, Havana. She disappeared on the night of December 14 when she went out to a party in Cerro, and since then no one has heard from her.

The young woman has a girl who is under two years old. In May, on Mother's Day, her father dedicated a message to her on Facebook with several pictures of her with her little daughter and one of when she was pregnant shortly before giving birth.

"The officials involved in the case are doing nothing, just sitting around doing nothing. I’m sure that if it were one of their daughters, she would have already shown up. This is Cuba; those without a godfather don’t get baptized," said Tomás Marín.

Yoandri has also denounced the inefficiency of the authorities in the search for his sister.

"Those who are supposed to ensure citizen tranquility are not doing their job correctly (...). There are no signs of it, why, if clues have already been provided, is there still no suspect appearing?" he inquired in April.
