Updated exchange rate: What are the prices of dollars, euros, and MLC in Cuba today?

Cubans residing both inside and outside of Cuba remain watchful about the evolution of currency prices on the island.

The price of currencies remains unchanged this Sunday in the Cuban informal market, or at least that is what the monitoring documented by elToque reflects.

The independent media continues to remain silent -in analytical terms- regarding the unusual stability of dollars, euros, and MLC in recent weeks.

The dollar remains priced at 320 CUP, the euro at 330, and the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) at 275.

"All the food is really expensive, and they don't want to raise the dollar," lamented one of the many internet users who are dissatisfied with the statism of the currencies.

Others consider it a positive fact, while a third group does not care because it concerns currencies they do not have access to.

Exchange rate today 08/09/2024 - 07:22 a.m. in Cuba:

Exchange rate of the dollar USD to CUP according to elTOQUE: 320 CUP.

Exchange rate of the euro EUR to CUP according to elTOQUE: 330 CUP.

Exchange rate of the MLC to CUP according to TOQUE: 275 CUP.

The median of buying and selling prices published this Sunday by the aforementioned independent media confirms that the situation is one of absolute stagnation.

The US dollar reached 320 CUP on August 3, and since then, the monitoring of classified ads that average its value in the black market has shown no fluctuations, according to elToque.

The European currency, for its part, reached 330 CUP on August 5 and has not changed its average selling value since then.

The last to register changes was the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC). However, since August 9, the virtual currency has been priced at 275 CUP.

The price stability in recent weeks contrasts with the significant changes in the first seven months of 2024, characterized by fluctuating and abrupt streaks of both price increases and decreases.
