The police are searching for a Cuban suspect believed to have started a shooting that left two people injured in the city of Irving, in Dallas County, Texas, last Friday.
The alleged assailant was identified by witnesses as Luis Enrique Moreno, who fled the scene after the incident.
Around 4 a.m. on February 14, the Irving Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Hidden Ridge, near N MacArthur Boulevard, in the Las Colinas area of the city.
Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, the officers found two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds, although their lives were not in danger.
After investigating, the agents learned that Moreno resided in the 800 block of Lake Carolyn Parkway in Las Colinas, and they headed to the area, where they found the suspect's car.
Immediately, they established a perimeter while obtaining the necessary arrest and search warrants, and asked residents to shelter in their homes.
The operation deployed the SWAT tactical team and more than 15 patrols. However, when the agents entered Moreno's apartment, he was no longer there.
The suspect is still being sought by authorities for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police have asked anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the numbers (972) 721-3547 or (972) 273-1010.
The influencer Niover Licea identified the suspect as Cuban and stated that the victims of the assault are also reportedly citizens of the island, although this information has not been confirmed by the authorities.
The police have not specified the connection between Moreno and the injured individuals, nor have they updated the victims' health status, local news outlets reported.
