A Cuban was arrested this week following a search in the neighborhood of Los Pinos, in the Havana municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, where authorities discovered several weapons and ammunition in a residence.

The police operation took place on February 18 and was carried out by the Criminal Investigation and Community Work forces under the direction of the Sector Chief, as specified on Facebook by the official profile "Javier Gutiérrez," which often documents events of this nature.

According to the cited source, at 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday, the agents arrived at a house located in Guáimaro s/n, between Sagua and Alday.

"What would they find? The answer soon came. Upon opening the door, they realized that their work was not just a formality; they were faced with an arsenal," Gutiérrez noted.

The agents discovered "a modern pearl shotgun with optical sights, a .22 caliber shotgun, and more than 150 cartridges of various calibers."

Also found were two cartridge belts, one containing 27 bullets and the other 18 shells, in addition to several cases and shotgun wadding.

"An entire arsenal hidden in the heart of the neighborhood," stated the official source, which shared a couple of photos showing the seized material.

In addition to the firearms, several bladed weapons were confiscated, including various types of machetes and knives.

The owner of the home, named "Demis," claimed that "everything they found was part of his property," but the illegal possession and carrying of weapons is a serious crime under Cuban law.

The authorities continue the investigative process, while the detained individual faces "serious charges."
