The three deceased in a serious traffic accident that occurred early this Monday in Santiago de Cuba have been identified as Félix Sandi Ortiz (39 years old); Darilen Gonce Salas (20); and Leonel Bell Bravo (22).
The information was shared on social media by Aris Arias Batalla, Head of Operations and Relief in Santiago de Cuba, who provided additional details about the incident first reported by journalist Yosmany Mayeta.
Arias Batalla stated that the accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. when an electric motorcycle collided with a mechanical Jawa motorcycle, the latter bearing the license plate P 31493.

The tragic accident occurred at the corner of 11th Street in Veguita de Galo and Morro Road. Following the serious incident, everyone was taken to Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany Military Hospital.
In the motorcycle, there were three people, two of whom lost their lives: the driver, Félix Sandi Ortiz, and the young woman Darilen Gonce Salas.
The other person traveling on the scooter only suffered minor injuries. The passenger, who was discharged from medical care after only exhibiting scratches, has been identified as Víctor Ernesto Baibir, 29 years old.
The third deceased in the accident was the driver of the Jawa motorcycle, Leonel Bell Bravo, who died in the operating room while undergoing surgery.
"At the accident site, there were cans of beer, as seen in the photographs. The causes of the accident are being investigated, where three young individuals lost their lives on a main artery in Santiago de Cuba," concluded the official source, which shared shocking images of the incident.
The information detailed by Aris Arias Batalla had previously been published by Yosmany Mayeta, who specified that one of the fatal victims, Félix Sandi Ortiz, was robbed of a Samsung S22 phone at the accident scene.
"From our page, I urge the return of these personal belongings that their families wish to recover," the communicator noted.
"We also call attention to motorcyclists who are driving under the influence of alcohol and to those who recklessly overload any vehicle. Neither alcohol nor overloading passengers is a good ally on the road, concluded Mayeta Labrada, who sent a message of condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the three deceased."
So far, no precise details about the causes of the accident are known.
Images posted on social media showed the extent of the crash, which left the vehicles unrecognizable, along with large bloodstains at the scene of the accident.
