The Cuban singer Aymée Nuviola publicly spoke out about the hospitalization of the Cuban reggaeton artist Chocolate MC, who reportedly was recently admitted to the St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston.
From outside of Miami, the artist shared an emotional video on her social media where she celebrated the urban performer's decision, calling it an act of courage and true manhood.
"Hello everyone, how are you? Well, I’m not in Miami, but I just found out that Chocolate has indeed followed through and made the decision to admit himself for treatment to overcome his addiction, and I couldn't help but make this video," Nuviola began in her message.
In a measured yet strong voice, the tropical music performer emphasized the difficulty of accepting an addiction and the strength needed to take the first step toward recovery.
"That is an act of a truly handsome and honorable man. It's very difficult, first of all, to accept that you need help in a case of addiction, because you have to first acknowledge that you are an addict," he expressed.
The artist insisted that true "guapería," in the Cuban sense of the term, does not lie in impulsive attitudes or empty controversies, but in having the strength to ask for help and submit to the process of rehabilitation.
"That is indeed an example, that is truly a legacy, that is something worth it, that is something to be imitated," she said with conviction, assuring that she knows many people who have gone through similar situations.
Aymée's words have been applauded by many social media users, who believe that her message can be an inspiration for other young people in similar situations.
The artist concluded her statement by wishing strength to Chocolate MC in this process, which she described as "laborious and delicate, but absolutely necessary."
So far, the reggaeton artist has not publicly addressed this message, although his fans have flooded his profiles with expressions of support and well wishes for his recovery.
