A robbery that occurred in broad daylight at a home has left a Cuban family in the southwest of Miami-Dade in shock, as they now face the loss not only of material possessions but also the feeling of vulnerability that the intrusion into their home has caused.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 1:00 PM when an individual, whose identity is still unknown, was caught by security cameras loitering around a residence in the area.

The man, dressed in dark clothing and with his face covered, sneaked in from the side of the house and headed to the backyard to carry out the robbery.

According to the testimonies of those affected, he was clearly prepared to go unnoticed, wearing a black hood, a hoodie, a cap, a face mask -similar to those used by people during the pandemic-, black sweatpants, and white Converse sneakers.

Claudia Camacho, daughter of the homeowner, recounted exclusively for Telemundo 51 that thanks to the cooperation of the neighbors who agreed to provide the footage captured by security cameras, the path of the wrongdoer can be tracked.

Although the suspect was partially covered, the camera was able to capture some crucial details of his clothing that could help identify him.

The owner of the house, Yoleicy Álvarez, who was outside at the time of the theft, found her home in a state of chaos upon returning.

"When I got to my room, I saw that the jewelry box was open on top of the dresser, and there were no jewels left there," she explained, visibly upset.

The stolen items include not only jewelry and cash but something much more valuable to Yoleicy: her personal documents.

But what has truly affected the Álvarez family is not the loss of valuable items, but the lingering feeling of insecurity that follows the incident.

"It is the insecurity and lack of respect, how a person can enter your space, your privacy, and take what you have fought for and achieved over the years," he noted.

The family has already reported the theft to the Miami-Dade authorities, who are working on the investigation to locate the suspect.

Authorities urge anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the Crime Stopper hotline at (305) 471-8477.

Additionally, the family has decided to offer a reward to those who help identify the thief and turn him over to the authorities.

This robbery highlights a growing concern among local residents, who have noted the lack of security in certain neighborhoods and the increase in such crimes in recent months.
