An altercation between drivers of two vehicles belonging to the company Transmetro ended in violence and a shocking scene in the middle of a public road, according to videos and testimonies shared on social media.
The events occurred this Monday on a central street in the city of Cárdenas, where a Transmetro bus and a tow truck from Technical Road Assistance (ATV), both from state entities, were involved in a dispute that ended in physical assaults and intentional collision.
Although the original reason for the dispute is unknown, witnesses claim that it all started due to improper maneuvering during the driving. Some point out that the ATV truck might have been responding to a technical call from the bus itself, although this has not been confirmed.
According to comments gathered in groups on Facebook, such as “Accidentes Buses & Camiones”, the truck driver was reportedly assaulted by the bus driver and at least two other passengers who were carrying bats.

One of the users who claims to gather testimonies from the area denounced the passivity of the witnesses during the assault and described the attack as excessive.
In a video circulating on social media, the truck driver is seen driving through a group of people and getting back into his vehicle. Immediately after, he puts the truck in reverse and deliberately rams the bus amid the screams of those present. He then accelerates forward and reverses again to hit it a second time before the video cuts off.
The scene has sparked outrage and debate on social media, where some users fear that the truck driver might be blamed solely, while the alleged attackers could evade accountability due to supposed connections with high-ranking officials.
So far, the authorities have not issued any official statements regarding the incident, nor has it been reported whether any of those involved are under investigation.
