Raúl Inocente García Álvarez (Garal), a renowned photographer and journalist serving the Cuban regime, passed away at the age of 81 this Saturday in Sancti Spíritus.
According to the official press, Garal was the founder of the newspaper Escambray, studied Philology at the Central University Marta Abreu of Las Villas, and "has a remarkable and intense body of work on the Cuban Revolution".
