Donald Trump issues a stern warning to Vladimir Putin

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has issued a strong warning to the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, through a message on his social network Truth Social, intensifying the critical tone regarding the trajectory of the war in Ukraine.

In his post, Trump stated that Putin "is playing with fire", a phrase laden with tension that reflects his growing impatience with the ongoing Russian bombings and the lack of progress toward a diplomatic solution.

Trump's statement was not limited to a direct warning.

I have always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has become completely CRAZY!, Trump wrote, visibly shaken by the scale of the Russian attack, which left at least 12 dead -including three children- and dozens injured.

The president was particularly affected by the indiscriminate nature of the attacks.

"It is killing many people unnecessarily, and I’m not just referring to soldiers. Missiles and drones are being launched against cities in Ukraine for no reason," he criticized.

"I have always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a part, and perhaps that is proving to be true. But if he tries, that will lead to the downfall of Russia!" he warned.

Trump's outburst came at a particularly sensitive time. Just days before, he held a two-hour phone call with Putin to discuss a possible ceasefire, an initiative supported by the United States.
