A Cuban citizen was arrested in southwestern Miami-Dade after impersonating an FBI agent and stopping a motorist near Kendall Drive, local authorities confirmed.

The man, identified as Mario Enrique Allende, 59 years old, faces a felony charge for impersonating a federal officer.

According to the arrest report, consulted by Local 10, Allende was driving a blue Mitsubishi Outlander equipped with red and blue lights and was carrying accessories with FBI emblems, including a black cap featuring the agency's initials and a wallet with a supposed badge.

On Thursday at 4:00 PM, he stopped a driver on Southwest 133rd Avenue and 88th Lane, in the Kendale Lakes area, and told him that he "would go to federal prison for nearly causing an accident."

The motorist, suspecting that it wasn't a real officer, alerted a sheriff's deputy.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officers caught Allende as he was removing the police lights and taking off his cap, trying to hide the evidence in the back seat of the vehicle.

He was arrested on the spot and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he remains detained with a bond of $2,500.

Although the authorities indicated that there was an alleged confession, this was excluded from the official report.

Allende now faces serious legal consequences for impersonating a federal agent, a crime deemed serious due to the risks it poses to public safety.
