A police operation carried out in the early hours of June 8 resulted in the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in the Dragones neighborhood, in Centro Habana municipality, Havana.

According to the report released on the page of Facebook El Cubano Fiel, affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), the arrest occurred on Lagunas Street, between Galiano and San Nicolás, where the individual was reportedly involved in the street sale of “químico,” a psychoactive substance that has gained prominence in the Cuban informal market in recent years.

The post indicates that several patrol cars—described as part of a "convoy"—arrived at the scene and, after checking the suspect, they found a plastic box containing papers soaked with drugs. Following a search in the vicinity, the man was placed in a patrol car and transported under custody.

So far, there is no official confirmation from the authorities regarding the case, nor details about the charges or the identity of the detainee.

In early June, the police conducted a raid in the La Corea neighborhood of San Miguel del Padrón, during which they searched at least one residence, where marijuana and a bag containing several bundles of cash were found.

During the search of a residence, agents found drugs and money, in addition to arresting an alleged trafficker residing at the location.
