According to the report, they called police officers who were in the area, and they took the individual into custody.

Incidents like the one reported have become commonplace in Cuba, where in recent years, as the economic crisis deepens, crime and insecurity in the country are on the rise.

On social media, reports of criminal acts are constant, whether they are thefts, assaults, attacks, or murders, highlighting the alarming situation of contemporary Cuban society.

Thieves strike in any setting: homes, state entities, private businesses, public spaces, airports, means of transportation, and even hospitals and schools.

The escalation of criminal activities highlights the inefficiency of law enforcement in curbing offenders, making it increasingly common for the public to take matters into their own hands to catch wrongdoers before the police intervene.
