The Consulate of Spain in Havana has launched a call for applications aimed at Cuban citizens or legal residents on the island to fill two permanent staff positions in the category of Administrative Assistant.

The procedure will be conducted through open access, under the competitive examination system, and the deadline for submitting applications expires on June 20, 2025.

Requirements to participate

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

- Minimum age of 17 years, without exceeding the legal limit for signing an employment contract.

-Qualification: Elementary High School Diploma, Graduated from Secondary Education, EGB, ESO, or equivalent.

-Functional capacity to perform the job duties.

-Not having been sanctioned or disqualified from public employment.

-If not a Cuban citizen, you must have a valid residence and work permit in Cuba.

Stages of the selection process

The process consists of two phases:

1. Opposition phase

-50-question multiple-choice exam.

- Practical case related to the functions of the position.

Both tests are graded out of 10 points, and it is necessary to obtain at least 5 points in each to pass.

2. Contest phase

The educational and professional merits of the candidates will be evaluated, with a maximum score of 20 points, distributed as follows:

-Work experience in similar positions: up to 15 points.

-Relevant courses and degrees: up to 3 points.

-Public interview: up to 2 points.

Submission of applications

Interested individuals must complete the official form (Annex III), available at:

-The headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, Migrations, and Social Security.

The offices of the Spanish Embassy in Cuba.

Applications should preferably be submitted electronically through the General Electronic Registry within a period of 10 business days from the publication of the announcement.

Exceptionally, paper submissions will be accepted if electronic submission is not possible, at the office of the Council: Ave. 70, No. 517-519 between Ave. 5ªB and Ave. 7ª, Miramar, Playa, Havana.

A photocopy of the identity document or passport must be attached.

Postal applications must be postmarked on time. Regular postmarks will not be accepted as valid proof.

Remuneration and working conditions

Although the salary amount is not specified in the announcement, it is stated that it will be communicated during the interview with each candidate.

The hired staff must complete a probationary period of 180 days, during which they will be assessed by their unit of assignment.

In the event of resignation, failure to meet requirements, or an unfavorable evaluation, the position will be awarded to the next candidate on the list.

The employment relationship will be governed by local labor legislation and the conditions established for overseas workers by the Council of Ministers Agreement of January 25, 2008.

Tribunal and resolution

The selection body will consist of the members indicated in Annex IV and will ensure compliance with the principle of gender equality. The provisional list of accepted and excluded candidates will be published within one month, and five business days will be granted to rectify any errors.
