The Cuban actor William Levy has been accepted into a judicial program to avoid trial, after being arrested earlier this year in Broward County, Florida, on charges of public intoxication and trespassing.

The Broward County State Attorney's Office explained on its website that this program is aimed at first-time offenders and offers the opportunity to accept responsibility, undergo rehabilitation, and divert their cases from the criminal justice system.

According to court documents cited by NBC Miami, the 44-year-old artist was arrested in April after causing a disturbance inside a restaurant located on Weston Road.

The police report indicates that Levy was "highly intoxicated and causing disturbances" inside the establishment, prompting the manager to ask him not to return.

A county sheriff's officer arrived at the scene and ordered him to leave the property several times, but Levy disobeyed the instructions and was ultimately arrested.

He was transferred to the main jail of Broward County, where a bail of $250 was set for each of the two charges, totaling $500.

The legal process against William Levy began in mid-April 2025 when the actor was arrested in South Florida for disorderly intoxication and trespassing after causing disturbances at a restaurant in Broward County.

According to the police report, he was in an obvious state of intoxication and refused to leave the establishment despite the authorities' orders.

After the incident, the artist made his first public statements after being released from jail, and subsequently, pleaded not guilty in court and denied the allegations against him.

During the month of May, it was revealed that the Prosecutor's Office was still conducting the investigation and new developments in the case were announced, without specifying details about a potential legal agreement.

In June, the process once again captured public attention after the actor failed to appear before the judge during a scheduled hearing, which led to criticism and questions regarding his attitude towards the court.

Later on, broke his silence and provided his account of the events, asserting that it was all a misunderstanding amplified by his fame.
