Accident on Gibara highway leaves several injured, including a minor

An accident that occurred on August 10, 2025, on the Gibara road in the province of Holguín, left several people injured, including a girl who was hurt.

The accident occurred on the stretch of road leading to the village of Floro Pérez, when two motorcycles collided with a jeep, causing the latter to overturn on the side of the road.

According to witnesses, the collision occurred under circumstances that have not yet been clarified by the authorities, although the force of the impact was such that the SUV lost stability and ended up on one of its sides. According to the Facebook page 'Accidentes Buses & Camiones', the motorcycles involved also sustained significant damage.

Immediately, neighbors and passersby arrived at the scene to assist the injured while awaiting the arrival of emergency services. The underage victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care, although no information has been provided yet regarding the severity of her injuries or the health status of the others involved.

This incident adds to the long list of traffic accidents that frequently occur on Cuban roads, often involving motorcyclists and light transport vehicles.

In recent months, the province of Holguín has been the scene of several serious traffic accidents.

On February 27th, an almendrón and a truck collided, resulting in several injuries and prompting a significant emergency services response.

On May 29, a multiple accident on a road in Holguín , raising significant concern among the population due to the frequency of these incidents.

More recently, on July 13, the driver of a truck tragically lost his life in a collision in the province, an incident that raised concerns once again about the dangers of the roads in the eastern region.

These incidents, along with the one that occurred on August 10 in Gibara, reflect a troubling pattern that calls for greater traffic control, improved road conditions, and effective education and prevention campaigns to reduce accidents.
