A motorcyclist was injured on the morning of this Wednesday in an accident that occurred at the central intersection of Paseo and Calzada, in El Vedado, Plaza de la Revolución municipality.
According to user Raumar Ramos's report in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!", a pickup truck collided with a motorcycle, and the rider was taken to the hospital with head injuries.
The shared photos show the motorcycle almost embedded underneath the vehicle, which also sustained noticeable damage to its front.
Some comments indicated that the motorcycle was coming down Paseo while the truck was moving along Calzada, and that speeding may have influenced the severity of the collision.
The images suggest that the impact was strong enough to drag the motorcycle several meters into 7th Street.
A father pointed out that this type of truck has an especially wide windshield pillar, which can hinder visibility of motorcycles.
"You have to be aware because the motorcycles get blocked by the column, and often the riders have no idea about that and confidently go past in front," he commented.
Internet users recall that at that intersection there is a stop sign, but no traffic lights, which could have contributed to the accident.
