The incident was initially reported by the internet user Óscar AG in the group Facebook Bus and Truck Accidents, where he shared a video from the site of the accident.
"I couldn't film well, but there was quite a bit of blood. I don't know the details. Boyeros Avenue," he wrote alongside the images.
Although it was initially reported that the victim was a woman, other group participants refuted this information and stated that it is a man between 60 and 70 years old.
"Everything indicates that he was riding along the road without a helmet and made a maneuver that brushed against the truck. When he fell onto the asphalt, the impact to his head was very severe," commented a user identified as Yohandri Pérez.
Another person, who identified themselves as a resident of the area where the accident occurred, stated that the motorcyclist was struck by a truck and suggested that the motorcycle driver might have been distracted at the time of the incident.
"Since I entered CUJAE from Plaza, that avenue is a madness. People call it 'Fast and Furious' because of the speed at which traffic moves, especially in the mornings," commented user Adriel Pérez Torres.
So far, authorities have not provided official information about the incident or the motorist's health status. It is unclear whether he was transported alive to a hospital or if he died at the scene.
The Boyeros Avenue is one of the main thoroughfares in the Cuban capital and has frequently been the scene of traffic accidents, many of which are caused by speeding, recklessness, or the poor condition of the road.
