According to a preliminary survey conducted by USA Today 10Best, Key West Airport, Sarasota-Bradenton Airport, and Northwest Florida Airport are among the 20 best small airports in the U.S.

The airports were chosen for their comfort, charm, and ease of use, the information clarifies.

Regarding Key West International Airport, the authors of the list emphasize that it is “a small and easily accessible airport, close to the island's resorts.”

It also offers convenient flights, including the service of Breeze Airways.

For its part, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is "a popular choice for those flying to this luxury destination, a small and manageable airport with only 18 gates."

"With restaurants, bars, markets, and gift shops offering options for entertainment before a flight and nine car rental companies available to meet transportation needs upon arrival, SRQ has everything travelers require for a smooth transition from work to leisure," they specify.

In the case of Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City, experts highlight that it is fully integrated into the offering, with tourist cities like Seaside, Destin, and Fort Walton Beach nearby.

Following this preliminary list of 20, 10Best from USA Today 2025 invites readers to vote for their favorite airport for the Readers' Choice Awards.

Others among the 20 included in the list are Aspen/Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colorado; Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Belgrade, Montana; Hilton Head Island Airport in South Carolina; and Palm Springs International Airport in Palm Springs, California.

Miami Airport, the worst when it comes to luggage

Miami International Airport (MIA) was named the worst in the world for lost luggage.

According to an assessment by the California packaging company Arka, MIA loses approximately 306 bags for every million flights, which equates to about 5.5 pieces for every 1,000 passengers.

After the MIA, the second place is held by Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, followed by Singapore's Changi International Airport in third, and Denver International Airport in fourth.

The evaluation, which focused on the most important airports concerning the total passenger volume, was based on monitoring online searches related to lost and found services, according to the specialized outlet Travel + Leisure.

" Losing luggage can quickly ruin a trip, and some airports face more challenges than others in handling baggage," said a spokesperson for Arka.

The company advised passengers to check their list when making a trip.
