The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) terminated one of its employees after she shared a social media post that "downplayed" the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In an official statement released this Monday on their X account, the organization described the incident as a “deeply concerning event” and asserted that the employee's remarks “do not align with the values or mission” of the institution.

"We have a zero-tolerance policy towards the promotion of violence and hate, and we will not tolerate such behavior," emphasized the FWC, explaining that they acted immediately upon learning of the post and proceeded to terminate the employment relationship with the individual.

Charlie Kirk, 31 years old, was shot and killed in Utah last week, an event that has shocked American politics, particularly the conservative movement he was leading.

Founder of Turning Point USA, Kirk was regarded as a close ally of President Donald Trump and one of the most influential voices of the right in the country.

In a posthumous message, thePresident himself described the activist as “the great, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk,” in a statement where he asserted: “They will never silence us.”

According to Click Orlando, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on Monday that the DNA found on a towel wrapped around the rifle discovered near the crime scene matches that of the alleged perpetrator, Tyler Robinson, 22 years old, who will face capital murder charges on Tuesday.

The death of Kirk has generated a wave of reactions in the United States, not only because of the figure of the young leader but also due to the current political tension in the country.

In the diplomatic arena, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau warned that the United States could deny visas or bar entry to the country for foreigners who celebrate or justify Kirk's death.

“Foreigners who glorify violence and hate are not welcome in our country”, wrote Landau on X, where he also urged citizens to report such posts so that the State Department can “protect the American people.”

The dismissal of the FWC employee reflects how the case has not only opened a debate on the security of political leaders but also on the use of social media and the accountability of public officials.

From within the conservative movement itself, messages of condolence and calls for justice have multiplied, while Utah prosecutors prepare for a trial that promises to maintain media and political attention in the coming weeks.
