Donald Trump at the UN: "This is, without a doubt, the golden age of the United States."

Trump stated that the U.S. is experiencing a "golden age" after reversing issues from the previous administration. He emphasized the economic, military, and alliance strength during his tenure.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, delivered a speech on Monday at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York, where he stated that his country is experiencing “the golden age” under his current administration.

In his speech before heads of state, diplomats, and international delegates, Trump asserted that in just eight months of his new administration, he has succeeded in reversing what he described as “four years of weakness, anarchy, and radicalism” under the previous government.

“A year ago, our country was facing serious problems, but today we are the most dynamic country in the world, and there is no one that comes close,” stated the president.

Trump emphasized that the United States currently has "the strongest economy, the safest borders, the most powerful military, the strongest friendships, and the firmest spirit of any nation on the face of the earth."

According to his words, these conditions solidify a period of prosperity and international leadership that he described as “the golden age of America.”

The president recalled his first speech at the UN, six years ago, when during his first term he envisioned a world "prosperous and at peace." However, he pointed out that the progress made at that time was interrupted by armed conflicts on various continents and by the actions of the administration that preceded him.

Trump's speech comes against a backdrop of international tensions and after a year marked by global crises, which, according to him, his administration has managed to turn into opportunities.

His message was aimed at both the international audience and the internal audience in the United States, with a clear emphasis on showing political, economic, and military strength on the global stage.

"The 'golden age' according to Trump: Between symbols, power, and economy"

Donald Trump's messages in this second term emphasize the idea of a "golden age" for the United States.

This narrative combines three main themes: economic recovery, the tightening of immigration policies, and a symbolic strategy characterized by gestures of power and patriotism.

In economic matters, the Government has highlighted figures showing growth in employment and a reduction in the participation of immigrants in the labor market, presented as direct achievements of the presidential administration.

When announcing job growth, Trump emphasized that “we have never seen such a strong labor market; this is the golden age of the American worker.” His cabinet reinforced this message by highlighting the decline in immigrant participation in jobs as “a victory for the national workforce.”

These statistics add to the approval of ambitious legislative projects and the insistence that the United States is once again "the most dynamic country in the world."

The highlight of this narrative has been the approval in the House of Representatives of the Big and Beautiful Bill (BBB), the most ambitious legislative project of his administration. Trump celebrated it as “the big and beautiful project that will sustain the American golden age,” while his allies in Congress referred to it as “the backbone of the national renaissance.”

In the political arena, Trump has promoted radical measures such as the dismissal of federal prosecutors associated with the Biden era and the creation of laws that strengthen control over immigration, with new funding sources for mass detentions and deportations.

In this regard, by enacting a law to fund mass detentions, the president asserted that “the United States is protecting its borders like never before; this is how the golden age of security is forged.” For the architect of his immigration policy, Stephen Miller, it is about “the golden age” of the anti-immigrant agenda.

These actions reinforce their rhetoric of restoring internal order in the face of the "chaos" inherited from the previous administration.

The symbolic component has also been central: from official portraits that emphasize the image of a strong leader to reforms in the White House, with large decorative gold elements to adorn the Oval Office.

In the presentation of his official portrait, the president stated that “America is entering the golden age of prosperity,” while Melania Trump declared that her image reflected “the renewed confidence of the nation.”

Even in symbolic gestures, such as his presence at the Daytona 500 or the announcement of renovations at the White House, Trump has insisted that “every detail shows that we are experiencing an American renaissance.”

Each gesture seeks to physically materialize the narrative of a magnificent era, in which presidential power is displayed in a tangible way.

Thus, Trump's "golden age" is not limited to economic indicators; it is expressed in a comprehensive project that mixes hard policies, personal propaganda, and symbols of power aimed at reaffirming his vision of national greatness.
