The recent bail release of Ariely Álvarez Cabrera, the Cuban accused of covering up the murder of Daylon Fleitas González, has caused deep pain and outrage among the relatives of the deceased.

Fleitas, a 37-year-old Cuban and father of a family residing in Hialeah, was murdered in early August in a crime that has shocked the community.

"I will never feel good."

For Carmen, the victim's mother, Alvarez's release represents an affront.

“I can't feel good, I'm never going to feel good”, she expressed in statements to Univision, after learning that the young woman was released this week after posting a bail of 200,000 dollars.

"Very wrong, because it is not possible that, being her also the perpetrator of the act, she is free while my son is dead,” she added with visible grief.

His other son, Marlon, also expressed his frustration at the court ruling: “It’s not easy to see that my brother’s accomplice in his murder is on the street.”

And he stated: "That is unspeakable. They took away a part of our lives from me and my mother."

The family believes that justice is failing in its duty.

"I ask the authorities to cooperate with this case, as they have to make very serious decisions regarding her as well, because she is also an accomplice in this matter," concluded Carmen, who revealed that they are still preparing the funeral services for her son, who passed away nearly two months ago.

A release that sparks controversy

Ariely Álvarez Cabrera, 27 years old, was recently extradited from Mexico and is facing charges of complicity in the cover-up of a murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Despite the serious accusations, he was able to pay the bail set by the Miami-Dade court and was placed under house arrest, with GPS monitoring and a curfew established between 11 PM and 6 AM.

Judge Mindy S. Glazer, upon reviewing the case file, recalled that Álvarez "took the co-defendant after he hid the victim's body" and decided to keep the original bail set at $200,000: $100,000 for each charge.

The authorities are still actively searching for Alfredo Carballo González, Álvarez's partner and the alleged material author of the murder.

Meanwhile, Daylon Fleitas's family demands full justice. For them, Alvarez's release represents a setback on the path to justice.
