The Cuban deputy Elián González, currently a spokesperson for the regime and defender of the dictatorship, strongly criticized the recent Nobel Prize for Peace, , claiming that the award “has lost its value” and has become a political tool serving international campaigns against governments allied with the Cuban regime.

In statements released by IMER Noticias, during the IX Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba in Mexico, González stated that the Nobel Prize “has fallen into the market, into monetization and into the game,” and expressed that “from now on, receiving a Nobel loses significance.”

“I believe that they are already discrediting it, it is even regrettable how they undermine the figure of the Nobel,” said the parliamentarian, who represents the province of Cienfuegos and puppet of the regime.

The former raft boy criticized the awarding of recognition to "a person who called for the invasion of their own people," which, according to him, demonstrates a "boycott" within the award committee itself.

“How can a person who has called for an invasion of their own people be deserving of a Nobel Prize?” questioned González, one of the prominent faces of the Cuban regime, who avoided mentioning that currently Nicolás Maduro maintains one of the worst dictatorships in Latin America.

González associated the award with what he called a political campaign against Venezuela.

"They know how to handle the media, they know how to manage politics, they understand the market and they dominate it. What they are doing is granting visibility to their figure, to their campaign against Venezuela," he added, asserting that it is a "blatant pretext for invasion" against the South American country.

In a second intervention, also broadcasted by IMER Noticias, the Cuban diputado addressed the situation in Venezuela and Cuba, which he described as victims of "geopolitical pressure and control."

"We hope for a change in policy, but we know that the people will continue to resist and fight for their sovereignty," expressed the child who disappointed millions of Cubans by becoming a puppet of the regime.

"The Cuban people have no other choice and will do what they have always done: resist, seek their own ways to escape, and find success."

"We will continue to fight, we will continue to battle. We are a people of peace, but we are not afraid," González concluded, repeating the traditional rhetoric of the Cuban regime, as if he were being compensated—like the rest of the leadership—for his discourse on resistance and solidarity with allied governments.
