A Cuban identified on TikTok as @el.loco2572 sparked a wave of comments after posting a video showcasing his house in Cuba, both inside and out. What started as a personal pride post turned into a debate about success, envy, and the reality of owning a home on the island.

In the video, the TikToker tours their home with the message: "My little house in Cuba 100% mine, it still needs a few details, but we're getting there" . The images show a spacious house, featuring a porch, patio, garage, bars, and solar panels. Inside, there are simple furniture, ceramic floors, and walls painted in bright colors. Although the creator clarifies that it is not yet finished, the home looks modern and comfortable, which is quite rare during the current housing crisis facing the country.

The post received over 2,600 reactions and generated more than 350 comments on TikTok. Many users congratulated him for his effort and sacrifice, claiming that his achievement is a source of inspiration. However, others accused him of showing off and "seeking attention," which sparked a series of responses from the creator.

One of the most controversial comments came from a user who wrote: “Until a boss likes it…”. To which he firmly responded: “Well brother, buy it for yourself; here everyone finds their own place.” However, the most viral exchange was with another internet user who questioned him for being bothered by his success. His response became a quote: “There are always people who are annoyed by the achievements of others.”

Despite these criticisms, others highlighted his perseverance and took him as an example of how challenging it is to build a house in Cuba without state assistance. “That is sacrifice and hard work, not luck,” wrote a follower.

However, the harshest comments were not lacking. Some users sarcastically compared the security and aesthetics of the house to "a prison," or warned that in Cuba, "if a leader likes it, they'll take it away from you." These criticisms reflect the general distrust of the Cuban system and the insecurity surrounding private property on the island.

Far from engaging in political controversies, this Cuban remained true to his message of self-improvement. “Everyone finds their own place. We weren't born with a silver spoon, but if you set your mind to it, you can achieve it,” he responded to another comment. With his calm demeanor and his insistence that everything is possible through effort, he ultimately earned the respect of many who had initially questioned him.

His video has become one of the most talked-about among Cubans on TikTok, where showcasing a personal achievement can evoke both admiration and resentment. “There will always be people who criticize,” he wrote in a later response. “But those who work hard enjoy the result.”
