Cuban customs detects drugs inside a cream tube in a postal package

The discovery occurred during the Secure Border exercise against drug trafficking. Postal Customs and the Minint were acknowledged for their role in the detection. The case strengthens the control operations on international shipments.

The General Customs of the Republic detected cocaine hidden in a cream tube inside a mail parcel, as part of the Safe Border exercise against drugs conducted by this entity.

The operation was the result of joint efforts between the Postal Customs and the Anti-Drug Agency of the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), reported on his account on X by the first deputy chief of the institution, William Pérez González.

According to the official, the unity between both entities "is a strength" in the fight against drug trafficking and praised the "commendable work" of the officials who were involved in the detection.

The publication is part of the regime's efforts to demonstrate results in the fight against drug trafficking under the official slogan "We win against drugs."

At the beginning of October, a court in Ciego de Ávila in a public trial described by the authorities as "exemplary," held in the context of the IV National Exercise Against Crime.

Shortly before, the First Criminal Chamber of the Provincial Court of Las Tunas , after being found guilty of marijuana trafficking.

As part of the Exercise, the Provincial People's Court of Holguín held an exemplary trial against three Cubans accused of drug trafficking.

In Havana, on September 22, the Provincial Court sentenced a man to 15 years in prison for selling cocaine and synthetic drugs.

In Matanzas, another young man awaits sentencing after confessing to having bought and resold narcotics, despite having no criminal record, with the prosecution requesting seven years in prison.

All these processes are part of a national zero tolerance campaign against drug trafficking, a judicial offensive aimed at demonstrating firmness in the face of the phenomena of drug use and trafficking, especially synthetic cannabinoids, commonly referred to as "chemicals" or "paper."
