According to activist Lara Crofts, the mother has been identified on social media as “Elizabeth González Díaz, a resident of Ceballos, who has been labeled by her own neighbors as a violent and conflictive woman since her adolescence.”

"What exacerbates this barbarity is the coldness with which another individual records the incident, as if it were a spectacle. Worse still, he forces his other son to pour cold water over the head of the assaulted girl to 'cleanse' the blood, subjecting him to a psychological torture that will leave a lasting mark on him," the activist stated.

"And in the midst of the chaos, he shouts at the girl that he can ‘end her life’. This is not discipline; it is an intolerable crime! No school mistake justifies threatening or harming a child in this way,” he added.

The activist questioned that "the authorities of Ciego de Ávila, especially the police, seem blind to these horrors. They ignore the cries of children but act with malice against dissenting voices."

"We demand that the authorities search for and take action regarding Elizabeth González Díaz immediately," he added.
