In recent hours, the informal currency market in Cuba has been highly active: there has been a new drop in the prices of dollars and euros, while the freely convertible currency (MLC) has surprisingly seen an increase.
At dawn this Saturday, the value of the dollar falls in the Cuban informal market for the fourth consecutive day, as reported in the update published on November 1st by the independent media elTOQUE.
The U.S. dollar falls to 460 CUP per unit, representing a decline of 10 pesos in value compared to the previous day, when it had also decreased by another ten units.
The euro is also down today, but to a lesser extent, the European currency falls to 525 CUP, five pesos less than yesterday.
Exchange Rate Evolution
In the case of the MLC, the virtual currency used by the regime, it has risen by five pesos and now stands at 205 CUP.
The freely convertible currency had been stagnant at 200 CUP for several weeks.

Meanwhile, it remains unknown what happened to "the floating rate" announced since late 2024 by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, who announced changes in order to try to close the gap between the official and informal value of currencies.
