The Cuban content creator Robert Evangelista (@robertevangelista00) posted a viral video where he ironically criticizes the medical care in hospitals in Cuba and the shortage of medications in the country.
In his message, the young man recounted that in recent months he has suffered from dengue, chikungunya, H1N1, COVID-19, and the omicron variant, but he always receives the same response from doctors: “Drink plenty of fluids.”
Visibly upset, Evangelista questioned the level of professionalism in the Cuban healthcare system, where not even a single paracetamol can be found for the sick.
“Do you all think we are just weeds? What are we, a branch of marabou? Even if it's out of pity, take my blood pressure,” she expressed in the video, which quickly generated thousands of reactions.
The influencer also joked about the lack of resources in the island's hospitals: “You ask them to check your throat, and they ask if you brought a spoon from home. What's happening to the medical power?”
Evangelista concluded his message by stating that “it is better to die in the bed of a house than to go to a hospital in Cuba,” referring to the collapse of the healthcare system, which the regime insists on presenting as a “global medical power.”
