The Republican congressman Carlos A. Giménez once again stirred up social media with a cryptic message: “Everyone is already waiting for it... It's on its way...” said the Cuban American on X (formerly Twitter).

Minutes later, he added another tweet, with similar references to the changing era and regime, in a clear message to the Palace of Miraflores and its occupant Nicolás Maduro: “Winds of change are felt. Times of change are coming.”

The phrases, brief yet loaded with intent, come just as the U.S. military presence in the Caribbean keeps the governments of the region and the chavista leadership in Caracas on edge.

For weeks, U.S. warships and aircraft have been operating around the Caribbean under the banner of an "anti-drug operation," although the White House refrains from confirming any direct actions against Maduro, whom Washington continues to accuse of ties to drug trafficking and terrorism.

In Miami, Giménez has been one of the most resolute voices in that crusade. Just a few days ago, he stated that “something will happen” and that Maduro would not make it to Christmas in power. However, this time he did not speak of politics or military operations, but rather in a tone that evoked hope and the end of an era.

“Coming soon” is not just any phrase: it is the most remembered line from the anthem of Willy Chirino that, for decades, has accompanied exiled Cubans as a promise of freedom.

When Giménez mentions it, it resonates not only with the Venezuelan cause but also with the Cuban one. The "winds of change" he refers to inevitably evoke the theme of Scorpions, a symbol of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of an era.

“Times of Change,” for its part, echoes Bob Dylan and his warning that the powerful cannot stop the course of history.

Thus, through brief messages and musical metaphors, the Cuban-American congressman seems to signal the imminent arrival of a historic turning point. In Washington, there are discussions of “imminent” movements, and intelligence sources assert that the countdown for chavismo is nearing zero.

From Caracas, Maduro responds with speeches of resistance and orders for military mobilization. But in the Caribbean, the winds are already blowing — and as Giménez wrote, "everyone is already waiting for it... it's on its way."
