The Cuban-American congressman Carlos Giménez stated this Saturday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will give trick or treat to Nicolás Maduro, using the well-known Halloween phrase to refer to a possible end to the Venezuelan regime.
"For the first time, there are forces in the Caribbean. We are at war against drug traffickers. And who is in charge of those traffickers? Nicolás Maduro. We have a reward of 50 million dollars for the head of Nicolás Maduro. We are at war against the leader of Venezuela," said the Republican during the presentation dinner of the Cuban Anticommunist Foundation (FCA) by Alex Otaola.
"I am quite sure that something is going to happen. I don't know if it will be for Thanksgiving or for Christmas, but something is going to happen," he added, according to the video shared by journalist Mario J. Pentón.
Someone from the audience shouted "Halloween" as another possible date for Maduro's end, and the congressman seized on this.
"Halloween? I think so, Marco is going to show up for trick or treat. The trick is the B2 up there. The treat, you get out of here," he joked about it.
Regarding Cuba, Giménez explained that "Venezuela also supports the regime in Cuba, providing it with oil, etc., etc. If Venezuela falls first, we might see what will happen in Cuba, because Cuba is in its weakest state in history. We have the Secretary of State, we have three congressmen dedicated to the freedom of Cuba," he said.
"We are always fighting, and we are always conspiring on how we can undermine the Cuban regime, how we can undermine Nicolás Maduro, and how we can undermine Petro in Colombia," he added.
Giménez's statements align with those of his colleague María Elvira Salazar, who, regarding the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to María Corina Machado, asserted that “Nicolás Maduro is terrified” and that his downfall is imminent.
“Cockroaches never want to die, but the great exterminator named Donald Trump comes with a tank full of fumigation ready to finish them all off,” Salazar said in a statement to Politico after being contacted to comment on the award given to the Venezuelan opposition leader.
The representative from Florida stated that the Nobel Prize makes Machado an "untouchable" figure, comparing him to historic figures such as Simón Bolívar and George Washington.
