The forced exile of José Daniel Ferrer, one of Cuba's most significant dissidents, has sparked a wave of solidarity and public support from figures in the exile community, political representatives, and human rights organizations.

From social media, Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar wrote: “The dictator can exile, but he cannot silence the truth. Neither prisons nor exile can silence a free man. Today José Daniel Ferrer arrives in lands of freedom, but the battle for Cuba has only just begun.”

On his part, Congressman Carlos A. Giménez stated that they will welcome him in Miami “like the hero he is,” and shared a quote from José Martí: “Everything to the fire, even art, to feed the blaze.”

The artist and activist Yunior García Aguilera also reacted to the exile with a message of respect and admiration: “For José Daniel Ferrer, all our respect, admiration, and gratitude. Freedom for all political prisoners in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua!".

Rosa María Payá, human rights activist, stated: “The dictatorship has forced José Daniel Ferrer and his family into exile. Let his executioners not be mistaken: this exile will be short.”

The Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugás also expressed his support for the opposition leader and announced that he would go to greet him at the airport. “I will welcome a hero, the bravest man in Cuba. From prison to exile, but with his head held high,” he wrote on his social media.

The Cuban Observatory of Human Rights (OCDH) reported that Ferrer was taken directly from the Mar Verde prison to the Santiago de Cuba airport, escorted by a large contingent of political police agents.

"He was expelled from the country after years of imprisonment, torture, and isolation. The Cuban regime carries out another forced exile against one of the most visible opposition figures," the organization stated.

“Welcome to the lands of freedom. #DownWithCommunism,” wrote the artist Cuquita La Mora while discussing the exile of the opposition leader to Miami, along with his family.

José Daniel Ferrer was forced into exile after spending years in prison, under conditions of extreme repression.

The Cuban regime kept him isolated for long periods, systematically violating his fundamental rights.

His transfer out of the country was not a release from prison, but an imposed exile meant to silence his voice within Cuba.

However, the expressions of support confirm that his cause remains alive. “Exile will not silence him,” those who welcome him back to freedom repeat today, convinced that his struggle will continue from new frontlines.

This Monday, Luis Enrique Ferrer García, brother of opposition leader José Daniel Ferrer García, asked the Cubans in Miami to welcome him.

Minutes after Ferrer boarded the plane that took him to Miami with his family, his brother invited the Cuban community to welcome him at Terminal D of Miami International Airport, where he is expected to arrive around one in the afternoon.
